Hello everyone and welcome to Dutch Charm. I'm Liubov, Liuba, or Lu, the face behind this cozy corner of the Internet. I'm thrilled to have you here and can't wait to share my story with you.

Almost two years ago, my homeland, Russia, started a malfeasant invasion in Ukraine. My husband and I stood against this course of action. We wanted to leave our place of birth as soon as possible. My husband's factory in Russia shuttered its doors, but he got a job offer in the Netherlands. Without hesitation, we made the decision to relocate. In September 2022, we found ourselves in the picturesque town of Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

To be honest, this enchanting country didn’t steal my heart at first. It took me a while to get used to it. I had a sea of questions - How to find a job here? Where can we find an apartment? Who are the Dutch people? What should we buy to eat? Surprisingly, I couldn't easily find answers to these questions.

The Birth of Dutch Charm

In the meantime, I felt a strong urge to help others facing similar problems. I created Dutch Charm to be a guidance for those navigating the path of starting a new life in the Netherlands.
